How to Clean a White Couch Upholstered in Crypton Performance Fabric
We all love a white couch, but keeping it pristine requires maintenance that you may not be aware of, especially if you live with kids
Can a textile emulate a sound? Apparently so as evidenced by two great looks from Burch join the Sourcebook. Discover how the design team at Burch translated the movement and immersiveness of sound into two coordinated collections of upholstery fabrics featured in our latest edition of Sourcebook.
The Burch Design Studio has achieved a sensory crossover so intriguing that we just had to feature Cadence and Harmony here in The Sourcebook. Burch is a venerable fabric brand known for creating an extensive selection of materials for coordinated application in the hospitality, senior living, corporate and healthcare markets. Their Crypton offerings are many and the designs are bound to inspire. These two particularly energetic textiles have been developed around the inspiration and notion of sound. Here’s how they did it: Cadence and Harmony translate visual elements out of the rhythmic movement of sound into woven textile form.
Cadence follows the undulating journey of sound waves in an upbeat geometric emulating a transition in pitch from high to low. The integration of a three color twist yarn adds a heathered effect to amp up dimension across the surface. Soft and tactile, the fabric itself will always be silent, but the design speaks volumes. Cadence is offered in eight hues with an emphasis on layered neutrals.
If you’ve ever fallen asleep to the sound of gently lapping ocean waves or the patter of rain, you know the power of ambient sound to soothe and comfort. Harmony embodies that familiar and calming feeling in textile form. The designers evoke this in an intricate, layered fabric that utilizes a blend of metallic and matte yarns to reveal a subtle pattern with a soft and reflective focus. In resort, spa, long term care and healthcare settings the appropriateness of Harmony is self-evident.
A robust palette of 13 colors includes jewel tones and soft pastels chosen to best complement the textile’s gilded accents. They also harmonize well with their counterpart colorations in the the more boldly patterned Cadence design.
As durable as they are beautiful, Cadence and Harmony are powered by Crypton for optimal performance across an assortment of high-impact contract spaces. Crypton fabrics are the world’s first and only EPA-listed disinfectable fabrics, are Greenguard Gold certified for sustainability and carry a five-year warranty.
