Burch Salutes Modern Makers with a Bold New Crypton Nanotex Fabric Collection

We’re excited to kick off the sourcebook with a brand new collection from our friends at Burch. Like us, they are headquartered in the mitten state. What started out in 1904 as a small upholstery shop in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan has grown into a worldwide brand synonymous with innovative products that provide quality and value. Burch offers an extensive selection of materials for coordinated application in the hospitality, senior living, corporate and healthcare markets.

The Burch Design Studio celebrates the innovative spirit of contemporary artisans through their newest textile collection, Modern Makers. Paying homage to traditional and time honored techniques, today?s artisans are re-purposing common materials into something new. Stained glass, block printing and marble surfaces all require a certain type of craftsmanship to ensure that the integrity of the raw material is honored. The same can be said for the art of weaving, thus a perfect opportunity for Burch to use textiles to pay their respects to other crafts.

The three patterns, Bevel, Portico and Terrazzo put a contemporary spin on classic materials through playful patterning, intricate weave effects and textural contrast. A decidedly modern color palette reinforces the notion that not all traditional materials should remain hidden in the past.

Terrazzo playfully evokes the timeless flooring material in an upholstery fabric.

Terrazzo

A whimsical nod to its Italian namesake, Terrazzo playfully combines remnants of varying shapes, sizes and colors with a honed finish. Available in seven marble-inspired hues.

Bevel

Inspired by stained glass, Bevel explores the notion of transparency through intricate weave effects. Offered in seven multifaceted hues with a soft, reflective focus.

New from Burch, Portico with Crypton Nanotex technology for contract design projects.

Portico

Hand-etched arcs provide relief to deeply saturated segments in this block print inspired textile. Portico is available in seven mod color combinations.

Looks that Last

Bevel, Portico and Terrazzo are protected by the stain fighting power of Nanotex. Nanotex, powered by Crypton, offers superior spill and stain resistance coupled with remarkable performance & durability. Built into the molecular structure of the fiber, Crypton Nanotex permanently protects while maintaining the fabric?s natural hand and breathability. Crypton Nanotex is antimicrobial, GREENGUARD Gold certified, and has a high level of cleanability. It also repels oils, moisture and odor-causing bacteria, mold and fungus.
