It’s raining cats and dogs at Anne Sage’s house. Two cats, Sophie and James Bond, and two dogs, Rambo and Sadie to be precise. But the forecast is nonetheless sunny for this style maven who wisely designed her LA home for both its two-legged and four-legged family members. She went with the chic neutrals she loves, and even went so far as to select colors that complement her menagerie of adorable moving accessories.
The professional content creator, founder of Rue Magazine and City Sage design blogger since 2008 has an avid following on the ‘gram of more than 80,000 design lovers. She is also the author of Sage Living: Decorate for the Life You Want.?In the book, she shares?a wise truth: decorating our living spaces for our life goals is the first step in making them happen. “You deserve the beautiful life you’ve made,” she says.?For Anne and her husband, there was one overriding goal: to create a home so that their beloved pets can share it, while it still stays fresh and clean and beautiful. Sounds ambitious, but that’s where Crypton Home Fabric came in. Anne selected sleek, mid-century modern upholstered furniture for the living room by Thayer Coggin; a sofa and two chairs. She then selected upholstery fabrics powered by Crypton performance technology in the dreamy neutrals she loves.
A gorgeous, textural stri? by designer Dana Gibson for Stroheim called Kiki Boucl? in a deep charcoal and white color way called “Pitch” makes those chairs so fashion-forward they practically leap into the 21st century with the same agility as those adorable kitties. If you don’t have an interior designer on board quite yet, you can get the Dana Gibson fabric directly.
For the Milo Baughmann sofa?Anne selected a sophisticated flax-hued linen by trade-only fabric house Thibaut. Consumers can acquire a similar Crypton fabric look at Calico Corners.
Anne didn’t stop at her home when choosing performance – she also brought her love of clean, lasting upholstery into her workplace, a multi-use studio and event space called Light Lab, of which she is co-founder. There, she wanted something chic that could still hold up to high traffic, and she wanted it in white! She has upholstered two extremely fabulous Bernhardt?Camino swivel chairs in a white Crypton linen that sets off their gold-leaf bases perfectly. Like many professional creators, Anne creates life and work?spaces that speak to her goals and answer her needs without compromise.
In?Sage Living, Anne opens the door to covetable dwellings designed to boost the dreams of their occupants, from the sunny, open-air kitchen of a holistic nutritionist to the eclectic living room of a world traveler ready to put down roots. With page after page of stunning interiors, engagingly written home stories, and hundreds of design tips for every room, Sage Living goes beneath the stylized surface to help readers decorate for the lives they have and the lives they truly want. She embodies this ethos both in her own home and and work, where she is surrounded by things that reflect her tastes, her talents and her passions. Now that’s some real inspiration for the art of living well. We couldn’t resist offering up a few more details and adorable pet pics from Anne’s great looking home. Enjoy:
