United Fabrics Vintage Charm Meets Modern Performance Fabric

The Heirloom Archive Collection (And Why We’re Obsessed!)

We literally squealed when we first saw the latest fabric collection available at United Fabrics. The Heirloom Archive collection made its debut this week, and wow, it’s everything our Cottagecore, vintage-loving hearts could want but with a MAJOR modern upgrade – they’ve all got Crypton Home’s patented performance fabric technology perfect for hospitality, residential, and contract upholstery applications.

If you’re an interior designer who spends countless hours hunting for the perfect vintage-inspired patterns, this collection was made specifically for your clients who want a beautiful space with stain-resistance and odor-resistance protection.

Let us walk you through our favorites because there are some absolute gems in this collection that you’re going to want to know about.

The Heirloom Patterns That Made Us Swoon

Flora is a showstopper. It’s this gorgeous, bold floral print with a cool backstory – it’s actually inspired by point papers that weavers used before computers (think super old-school graph paper for designing fabrics). We love pieces that honor our craft’s traditions while embracing modern technology, and this one does that with digital printing that the weavers of yesteryear could only dream about. Perfect for a statement chair that becomes THE conversation piece in your client’s home.

Everly might be our personal favorite (though ask us again tomorrow and it’s possible that we changed our minds). We love a good damask. This one uses chenille yarns that make it feel softer and more casual than stiff formal damasks from your grandma’s house. It’s elegant without being stuffy, which is basically our design philosophy in fabric form.

Kitt is that perfect small-scale pattern that works everywhere. It’s a modern take on those ditzy patterns (yes, that’s the actual design term for a small-scale, all-over flower motif) that have been sprinkled through textile history. The chenille fabric makes it ridiculously soft.

Sadie brings the texture with a subtle strié effect (those fine lines that add dimension) in the most beautiful monochromatic colorways. It’s one of those performance fabrics that reads as a solid from across the room but has so much more interest and texture to it the closer you get.

Hackney is a classic chenille stripe that never goes out of style. It’s the perfect scale to mix with your bigger patterns. We can see this on everything from dining chair upholstery fabric to banquette seating.

Bisou (which means “kiss” in French, how cute is that?) is United Fabrics’ solid chenille fabric option with recycled cotton and polyester. Perfect for balancing out your bolder patterns while still maintaining that cozy texture.

June designers will use this fabric to go full on traditional glamour with a classic satin damask featuring paisleys and filigrees. It’s formal but not stuffy and would look beautiful on accent chairs or even a headboard.
