When the Society Social x Nick Mele furniture collaboration debuted, we screamed when we spied our upholstery fabric in their gorgeous photography. Were we dreaming? Nope! (Yes, we pinched ourselves to double check.) The Pause Life, Play Games Collection uses Crypton’s performance fabric, Highland Oaks Torrent, and it looks top tier.

Inspiration Behind “Pause Life, Play Games” 

The furniture collaboration by Nick Mele and Roxy Owens for Society Social was born from “Nick’s deep appreciation for interiors and Roxy’s love for furniture that tells a story.” The duo meticulously designed a thoughtful collection combining vintage charm and modern sophistication. It’s giving cozy Cottagecore vibes in the best way possible. 

While all the pieces shown are available in the Highland Oaks Torrent pattern, a few notable pieces are the King Barrel Back Lounge Chair (the contrast piping is such a fun design detail) and the Pawn Wicker Stool. 

Crypton’s kid-friendly, pet-friendly, stain-resistant upholstery fabric was such a great choice. Not only does the pattern perfectly complement the collection, but our performance fabric helps give you peace of mind, the freedom to play, and have fun even if game night includes a spill or two.  

The collection evokes a feeling deeply rooted in nostalgia, resulting in a richly layered room that showcases the pieces through Nick’s polished, yet playful lens.

The Society Social campaign mirrors Nick’s fine art photography style – sophistication with a touch of the unexpected. In addition to designing this stunning furniture collection, Nick also, “released a new limited-edition series of fine art images titled “Game Night – a top-down view of vintage board games, accented with bejeweled hands, family heirlooms, and cheeky hidden details.”
